Angela Carter

Née en 1940 à Eastbourne, Angela Carter a étudié la littérature anglaise à l'Université de Bristol et travaillé comme journaliste avant de se tourner vers la littérature. Elle est l'auteur de huit romans, trois recueils de nouvelles, deux essais et de nombreux articles dans des journaux tels que The Guardian, The Independent, New Statesman. Entre 1970 et 1980, elle voyage en Europe, en Asie, aux États-Unis et est auteur résident dans plusieurs universités. Elle meurt en 1992 à l'âge de 51 ans. Angela Carter est aujourd'hui l'un des auteurs les plus enseignés dans les pays anglo-saxons.
